Effectively managing fraud risk starts with the ability to identify realistic fraud scenarios and assess how they could occur within an organization’s processes, systems, and culture. Without a clear understanding of potential fraud scenarios, organizations may overlook critical vulnerabilities or rely too heavily on generic controls that fail to address real risks.
The Fraud Scenario Identification and Assessment course is designed for professionals who are involved in fraud risk management, internal audit, compliance, or control functions and want to strengthen their ability to identify and assess fraud risks in a structured and practical way.
Within BOOST, this program focuses on moving beyond theory to help participants think like fraudsters while maintaining a strong professional and ethical perspective.
The course emphasizes scenario-based thinking—examining how fraud could realistically happen, who might be involved, what controls could be bypassed, and what the impact could be. Participants will learn how to break down processes, identify fraud opportunities, and assess risks based on likelihood and impact. Attention is also given to documenting fraud scenarios clearly and integrating them into broader fraud risk and enterprise risk frameworks.
By the end of the program, participants will be better equipped to identify meaningful fraud scenarios, assess their risk, and support more targeted and effective fraud risk management efforts.
